Marcus & Co. was highly regarded during the midcentury era for their exceptional jewelry, known for blending timeless designs with superior craftsmanship. Their creations often featured high-quality gemstones, including emeralds, which were a hallmark of luxury at the time. This ring is accompanied by an original document dated April 21, 1900, from Manila, Philippine Islands, certifying its delivery to Archbishop Nozaleda by Captain S. B. Tufts, specifically identifies the item as "one emerald and diamond ring," suggesting its historical significance and provenance during the American military presence in the Philippines.
